Brock Lesnar is called The Beast Incarnate for all the right reasons. The former UFC star is pure brute force and is not someone who you want to mess with. However, having a match against Lesnar could be considered one of the biggest milestones a star could achieve at WWE. Recently in an interview, released WWE star Matt Riddle revealed the details on how he was at one point supposed to go against Lesnar and even defeat the former champion.

Matt Riddle was about to defeat Brock Lesnar

On the latest live stream of Signed by Superstar, Riddle talked about the time, he was supposed to defeat Brock Lesnar at the 2022 Royal Rumble. He stated, “I was told at one point I was going to win the Rumble (2022).” However, he further stated that this plan was foiled by none other than The All Mighty, Bobby Lashley. “Bobby Lashley beat Brock Lesnar, hit him with the belt.”

Due to this bout between the two, Lesnar wanted the outcome of the 2022 Royal Rumble to be changed. Riddle stated, “Brock came in, didn’t want to do business with everybody, and said he was winning. Nobody stood up to him. I didn’t either.” Riddle was eliminated by Lesnar at the 2022 Royal Rumble after receiving an F5 from the former champion.

However, it was Riddle’s oldest wish to face Lesnar. At one point even Lesnar has commented on it.

How Lesnar reacted to Matt Riddle’s wish

In an interview back in June 2020, Riddle shared his experience when Brock Lesnar acknowledged his desire to beat him for the first time. The King of Bros has been vocal about his desire to defeat Lesnar in such a way that the 46-year-old star would go into retirement. But little did he know that Lesnar was aware of this. Riddle was first informed by Lesnar’s former spokesperson, Paul Heyman that the match is never going to happen. According to him, Heyman said that there is “no chance in hell”  that Riddle is going to get that match.

Later on, Lesnar came to have a word with Riddle. He stated that Lesnar hugged Riddle. He shared his experience by saying, “Like, he’s holding me like we’re friends but we’re not.” However, Lesnar was not there to just hug the 37-year-old star. He was there to inform him that the match was never going to happen.  And just like Riddle, fans were left disappointed as well. If a match ever happens between the two, who do you think will win the bout?

One take at a time

For me pro wrestling has two things that I like the most, storytelling and fighting. Let?s just say movies are failing to keep me entertained in those departments. I grew up watching WWF and not WWE and any hardcore fan will agree that the two are not the same, but I love both iterations.
