It’s important to learn how to manage finances from a young age. In fact, for athletes, it is absolutely mandatory. This is a lesson WWE Megastar Brock Lesnar learned the hard way.
During a conversation on The Pat McAfee Show 2.0, Lesnar spoke about the time he almost went bankrupt. He had signed his first deal, and back then, it was a lot of money.

At that point, he didn’t quite manage it well enough, and almost crashed into bankruptcy.
“I don’t have to do this. I’ve been really wise. I’m doing cause I want to. I’m not gloating. I’ve been really good with my money. Always been that way though. I learned from a lot of people. I was almost bankrupt my first run. I just signed a big deal with Vince. It was a lot of money. Six months later I’m like ‘yeah, scr*e yourself Vince’.” H/t Pat McAfee Show 2.0
Of course, as time went by, he realized how important it was to manage his money properly.
Also, it’s a good time to note that Brock Lesnar grew up poor, which means he didn’t have luxuries or lavishness. Now that he has the money, he remains humble and is teaching his sons the same.
