For his physical conditioning, Brock Lesnar had limited access to gym equipment while growing up in a part of South Dakota. However, via his activities there, he developed his athletic agility and used his farm in Webster to help him build strength.

John Schiley, his coach, was one individual who had supported him throughout his formative years when Lesnar didn’t make it. Interestingly, Lesnar’s former coach once revealed how the popularity he received from the WWE altered him, adding a negative aspect to his attitude and making him seem a little grumpy.

Lesnar’s coach, who assisted in developing the young wrestler from a schoolkid to a legendary figure, admitted in an interview with USA Today Sports in 2016 that he and The Beast were not speaking and were on bad terms before the UFC 200 at the match against Mark Hunt due of a minor disagreement he had with him. In his words, “We kind of had an argument once and I said, ‘You ain’t the Brock I used to know. You’re kind of an (expletive) now”

Moreover, he added, “He had all that money and he was less happy than when he didn’t have a damn dime to his name. He was so damn grumpy and ornery. It seemed like he was mad at everybody. [H/T: USA Today]”

He particularly believes that his WWE fame has brought him a bad side in addition to fame, wealth, and fancy homes. He believed that Lesnar wasn’t the same person he formerly was—a person with farm origins who was grounded. However, Lesnar improved and became more content, nevertheless, once again owing to his wife.

Brock Lesnar changed as a person after marrying Rene Sable

After Lesnar married Rene Sable in 2006, according to his coach, he started improving once more as a person. He stated, “She fit right in. “She’s down to earth and she keeps (Lesnar) there.’’

Not just his coach, but also his buddy Jesse Sabot believes that the former UFC champion matured and became a more clear-thinking individual when he settled down and started a family. Indeed, Sable must have had a role in shaping Lesnar’s career back on track since it took off from there in the UFC and WWE.

After which Schiley stated, “He knows he was a mess at one time and got away from his roots. His fame and fortune, his job, his money, everything came back to him when he got grounded again. He’s famous for being a bad guy, but really he’s a good guy.’’

Lesnar and Sable, who values privacy, are constantly enjoying each other’s company together and are leading fulfilling lives. After his marriage, the coach believes that Lesnar once more became a joyful and upbeat person.
