A WWE Superstar needs to show dominance from the second they step foot in the arena. Therefore, it’s important to choose an entrance music which sets the tone for the character. This is exactly what CM Punk and WWE did when it came to choosing Punk’s theme songs.
Punk made his WWE debut against Justin Credible on August 1, 2006. After cutting a backstage promo, Punk entered while ‘The Fire Burns’ by Killswitch Engage from the album WWE Wreckless Intent Talent played.

The other Superstars who have used this are Randy Orton, Serena Deeb, and The New Nexus
The song was perfectly aligned with Punk’s character. It had the same energy which Punk would show inside the ring. Moreover, the song had the power to get the entire arena cheering from their seats and chanting “CM Punk”.
Punk used this theme song for quite a while until WWE decided it was time for a change.
CM Punk’s second theme song
CM Punk quit WWE for a while in between, and when he returned in July 2011, a new song started playing. His second theme song is ‘Cult of Personality’ by Living Colour from the album Vivid.
A vast portion of the WWE Universe was of the opinion the song shouldn’t have changed. However, it was important to bring about a transformation because when Punk returned, his character had changed.

WWE used his brief exit to turn it into a storyline which turned the ‘Best in the World’ to the audience’s favourite anti-hero.
Finally, a new song kept the element of surprise alive. Therefore, when Punk returned to the ring to face the WWE Champion John Cena, the latter did not know who was coming to the arena based on the theme song.
CM Punk continued to use this until he retired in 2014.

Punk retired from WWE after he got into a confrontation with WWE. Furthermore, his health became a priority after he realized the company mistreated an injury. He walked away from the company with no official announcement.

WWE sent his release papers on his wedding day, which was the final nail in their relationship’s coffin.
