“Come Back for One More Match”: The Undertaker Often Receives Drunk Calls from WWE Legend and It’s Not Vince McMahon

Fans knew The Undertaker as the locker room leader, who was the guiding light for a lot of wrestlers. But while some stories paint him as the mentor who was strict with the bad kids and useful for the good ones, some paint him as the best of friends. One such example is the group that emerged to rival the Kliq in the ’90s.

Consisting of Yokozuna, Rikishi, The Godfather, and many more, this would be the start of Taker taking control to make a better environment backstage. One of these fellows who was also a part of Taker’s Ministry of Darkness was one of the standout friends of The Deadman.

While he was a great wrestler in the ’90s, he has turned his skills into being an excellent chef. But keeping that aside, we have another story about him and Taker, which will make you laugh out loud.

The folks at ProWrestling.net recapped everything that happened during the One deadMan Show in Nashville. It was live so there were no official videos from WWE, but ProWrestling.net wrote, “Taker said the only two people who call him after 9 PM are a high Mideon (Dennis Knight), who he calls “Tex” or a drunk Michael Hayes asking him to come back for one more match. Sure enough, later on, Tex actually called him during the show.

The crowd egged Taker to pick up, and he did. He put the mic to the speaker, and we popped for Tex (who sounded exactly like Taker’s imitation). Tex said he got a “present” from Godfather and also said he was the only one in the group to vote for both Hillary and Biden. This was loudly booed and Taker joked that Tex got canceled in Philly.

While on first glance one might think of Vince McMahon when Taker said drunk dialing, as both of them have retired and both were best of friends during both of their runs in the company. It was another of Taker’s very good friends, Mideon.
