Since debuting in her dream promotion, NPJW after an infamous WWE walkout, former Sasha Banks reached the top of the company as she won the IWGP Women’s Championship, taking down a fellow former WWE star, Kairi. But her striking run abruptly came to a halt with a right ankle injury in May while fighting for the inaugural NJPW Strong Women’s Championship title. While Mone chooses to stay silent about her potential return timing, it seems like the AEW superstar, Britt Baker, can’t wait to meet her in the ring at the next crossover event between AEW and NPJW.

Britt Baker sent an open invitation to Mercedes Mone for a Forbidden Door match next year

Baker, 32, has made her mark on the AEW division and even clinched the coveted Women’s Championship title for once. However, she suffered a recent setback coming up short in the Owen Hart Cup Tournament, losing in the quarter-finals to Ruby Soho. The AEW star also didn’t make a part of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door for the last two years. But it turned out she has a solid opponent in her mind to head to the Forbidden Door, in 2024. The star in question is none other than the super-talented Mercedes Mone.

Baker really thinks highly of the former WWE star as depicted in her latest confession during the ‘Not Just Football with Cam Heyward’ podcast.

Expressing her wish to face off against Mone, Baker noted, ”There is a very famous female wrestler who used to go by the name of Sasha Banks, now she’s Mercedes Mone. She is on the circuit. She got injured, but when she heals up, I think anyone and everyone wants to see her in some capacity all over the wrestling scene.”

Baker also praised Mone for succeeding outside the world of WWE saying, “She’s not in WWE anymore, so she can do whatever she wants. She’s in New Japan right now, but she’s not exclusive to them. Just to see somebody of that caliber going out there and doing her thing on her own without the machine behind her and still succeeding is really cool ”

During another past interview, Baker stated Mercedes Mone is a dream opponent for her. She even confessed that she used some of Moné’s moves in training and has a desperate hope of Moné working alongside her in AEW someday.

The AEW star also made her pick for the upcoming All In in London known.

Britt Baker named her preferred opponents for All In

With the highly hyped-up AEW event, All In knocking at the door, discussion has already been started about the potential matchups. Capitalizing on that momentum, Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. has now revealed who her dream opponent would be. It turned out she looks to spoil Saraya’s return to the UK by defeating the former WWE Divas Champion at a marquee All-In match.

The two rivals have some unfinished business, as Baker is yet to pay back Saraya for her actions a few weeks ago. And what can be a better opportunity than All In for that matter?

However, when it comes to choosing a non-AEW wrestler as her opponent, it seems like Baker wants to go ‘All In’ with her real-life friend Deonna Purrazzo, who is a three-time Impact Knockouts World Champion.

Now, we need to see how Baker’s plan to have Marcedes Mone in Forbidden Door 2024 strikes out, something that will mostly depend on Mone’s undisclosed health status and her stance on this.
