We are quite used to seeing our favorite WWE superstars in their usual on-screen character facade, which involved saying and doing anything that the storyline demands for entertaining fans. They played out their roles so flawlessly that at times we forget that they are someone’s father or son or husband with all the human emotions attached.

Rey Mysterio vs Dominik Mysterio feud has been one of the hottest topics in the world of pro wrestling for months. After a lot of build-ups, the elder Mysterio finally succeeded in teaching his son a good lesson at the WrestleMania 39 last Saturday. After a roller-coaster match, Rey Mysterio scored a commendable victory over his son.

Initially, his father’s instinct was in much dilemma to fight his child, but it was Dom’s excessive delinquency toward his own family, including his mother, that pushed him to humble his son for once. While their intense on-screen dispute seems far from over, Rey Mysterio still keeps his father self alive.

Rey Mysterio still believes Dominik will be a better son

Speaking in the recent episode of Impaulsive, the new WWE Hall of Famer appeared as a guest to have candid conversations about numerous topics including his injuries, his upcoming match, and most importantly his feud with Dom with the hosts comprising Logan Paul, Mike Majlak and George Janko.

When Paul asked him about his thought on his beef with Dom, the 48-year-old noted, ” [The feud] came from a bit of jealousy from my son, but he knows, man, I’ve given him everything, the lifestyle that I wish I would have had as a kid,” he said. “But at the end of the day, when you said it was just a phase that we went through, I’m hoping this is just a phase.”

While it’s very evident that the luchador deep down has enough affection for his son, and has still some hope left that Dom will correct his wrongs with time and eventually dismiss a father’s rage, it seems like he isn’t likely to stop without seeing an end to this popular father-son feud.

Rey Mysterio pitches a unique match to end the feud with his son

The Judgment Day member is not at all humbled by his loss at the hands of his father. Rather, it has made him more furious to take revenge. The storyline recently saw Dom helping Finn Balor to clinch a win against his father during Raw this week. The episode also involved a lot of hot-headed verbal give and take from both sides.

With that being said, Mysterio now wants to end the rivalry with a traditional Lucha Libre stipulation. In the latter part of the same interview, he revealed, “Maybe I put my mask on the line against his hair, which is some Lucha culture. If I lose that, I take my mask off. If he loses, he shaves his hair off. That might be interesting,”
