Dwayne Johnson Can Follow in Will Smith’s Footsteps for This Prestigious Award, but Faces Tough Competition

Dwayne Johnson’s status as a leading Hollywood star has been cemented by his box office success. Apart from being a movie star himself, he also produces content with his own production company and offers a lot more on his social media.

As an actor, he has also won more than a few awards to add to his already enhanced reputation. Most of these awards have been for being the best actor, most popular celebrity among others.

Recently, The Rock is now up for another prestigious and unique award that will see him go up against the big names.

YouTube will present its popular Streamy Awards on December 4 from Beverly Hills. The awards recognize excellence in online video content and those behind it. The former WWE Champion is one of the nominees for the Streamys in the Crossover Category.

Dwayne Johnson could emulate Will Smith

Being a top Hollywood star, Dwayne Johnson has received quite a few awards recognizing his talents. He won the Teen Choice Awards in 2017 and 2018, while he also won the People’s Choice Award in 2021 for Jungle Cruise as the favorite male movie star.

In fact, in 2017, his Seven Bucks production was nominated in the ‘Best Collaboration’ category at the YouTube Streamys.

This year, The Brahma Bull is up for an individual award in the Crossover category at the 12th annual Streamys. YouTube will live stream the awards from Beverly Hills on December 4.

Last year DJ’s Hollywood co-star Will Smith won the same award and the Black Adam actor will hope to emulate him. But he has a tough competition on his hands.

The other nominees in that same category include famous rapper Post Malone, British chef Gordon Ramsay, model Hailey Rhode Bieber and the team of Lili Reinhart, Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch, known as blondebrunetteredhead.

All these names have massive fan following and have achieved tremendous success in their careers.

Malone has over 24 million subscribers on YouTube. He is a huge name in the music industry today, with a worldwide appeal. Others like Gordon Ramsay and Hailey Rhode also have a legion of fans online who support their content.

The Crossover award “recognizes public figures embracing digital culture and demonstrating best practices.” Elsewhere, the most subscribed YouTuber, Mr. Beast, is hoping to win the creator of the year prize for the third year in a row.
