Dwayne Johnson’s Daughters Once Thought Their Father Might Be a “Bad Guy” After Seeing His ‘Violent Sh*t’: “They Always Keep Asking Me..”

Dwayne Johnson has played the role of a good guy on the screen for most of his career. There have been characters with certain moral ambiguity that he has portrayed as well, but largely he has remained with what can be termed as the heroic arc of the story.

However, his recent role in Black Adam was a different take. Although the Black Adam character isn’t entirely evil, his tendency to get the job done no matter what does push the envelope. In fact, Black Adam is more of an anti-hero than a superhero.

It was this depiction that made the daughters of The Rock question him about his role in the DC film. The Rock plays varying roles in movies, but to his young daughters Tia and Jasmine, he is their heroic dad.

In an interview before the release of Black Adam, DJ said his daughters asked him whether he was a “bad guy” after seeing the trailer for the film.

A look at the Black Adam trailer and if you have watched the movie will give you an indication that The Rock’s character isn’t the usual happy-go-lucky superhero.

He is ready to get his way no matter the cost and would stop at nothing to get what he wants. Even in the trailer, the Black Adam is seen tearing down helicopters and beating people up without any fuss.

Last year before its release, ET Canada’s Sangita Patel sat down with the former WWE Champion for an in-depth interview. The host asked the Great One what his daughters thought of his role in the DC movie.

He mentioned that the film had been a part of discussions in their household. DJ also said his daughters questioned whether he was a bad guy in the movie.

The Rock said “I’ve had a lot of conversations with them. Which is interesting in their six and four minds just for them to try and understand or interpret the philosophy of are you a bad guy daddy? They always keep asking me that because when they see the trailers I mean. I’m doing some pretty violent sh*t.” He then mentioned he had to reassure his daughters that he wasn’t a bad guy.

The Brahma Bull continued, “I say well no daddy is not a bad guy he’s more of a protector of the people who he loves. Seeing what he does in the Black Adam trailer and in the movie, it is understandable what led to his daughters feeling apprehensive about their father.

No matter what goes on in his professional life, The Rock always tries to be the best father he can be to his daughters. He is a hero to them and takes great care to maintain that image. Moreover, he recently shared an Instagram post stating how proud he is of his daughters and their understanding of fame.

The Rock absolutely loves his daughters and often uploads videos of him having fun with them. As he does with many others, he hopes to inspire his young daughters. He may have played the anti-hero Black Adam on screen but in real life, he is nothing short of a superhero to his daughters.
