Through a statement on their social networks and their official website, GCW (Game Changer Wrestling) has announced the participation of a name strongly linked to mixed martial arts and professional wrestling, Shayna Baszler. Baszler will be a part of Bloodsport X, one of GCW’s The Collective’s events.

In the last two years, WWE has been more open to collaborating with other companies around the world. Whether it is sending roster talent to the corresponding company for a particular event. Or them granting a chance to a wrestler from another promotion for one of its events. Like when Jordynne Grace was at the Royal Rumble this year with the World Knockouts Championship. Something that Mickie James also did in 2022. We also saw Charlie Dempsey on AJPW a few months ago. Shinsuke Nakamura too wrestled at NOAH against The Great Muta and Karl Anderson at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17. Now, it has been announced that Shayna Baszler will make her GCW debut on April 4 at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport X event.

Baszler will compete under the official rules of Bloodsport. Where two competitors face each other in a ring without strings or corners. And whose only conditions of victory are surrender, referee stoppage, and draw under a 25-minute time limit. Other names familiar to WWE audiences, such as Johnny Bloodsport (John Morrison), Nic Nemeth (Dolph Ziggler), and Timothy Thatcher will also be in action. Fans are loving the idea of the WWE being open to exchanging talents and Triple H is surely making the right moves.

Fans appreciate the crossovers

The WWE has surprised fans with another unusual instance of collaboration with the independent scene in the United States. The two companies had a series of friendly talks in late 2022. Recall that at the beginning of the year, the TKO company sent Charlie Dempsey to All Japan Pro-Wrestling for a brief excursion. And now with the MMA sensation, fans are highly appreciative of the WWE’s idea of exchanging talents. So much so, that fans couldn’t help but gush over their reactions on social media. Here are some of the reactions:

This fan wants the WWE to keep the forbidden door open for other companies as well.

Another fan wanted the other company WWE collaborates with to be AEW.
