WWE and Hollywood often go hand in hand. Several WWE superstars have over the years been in Hollywood films and tried their hands at acting. However, out of all of those, only a select few have been able to make it big in the industry. Names such as John Cena, Dwayne Johnson, and Batista are the most well-known ones. However, others such as Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Triple H, and even Ronda Rousey have been part of Hollywood films.

Now, two former WWE SmackDown Women’s champions were revealed to be in the cast list of legendary women wrestler, Mildred Burke movie. Mildred Burke was one of the most iconic women wrestlers of all time, and a movie about her is bound to be special.

Who are the two former champions slated to be in the Mildred Burke movie?

Former WWE SmackDown Women’s champions, Liv Morgan and ‘The Queen’ Charlotte Flair were selected to be in the movie. A report by Fightful Select stated that both these two women are confirmed in the film, which is set to be shot in Louisville, Kentucky in June.

Despite being against each other several times in the ring, the two will be teaming up with each other for the first time ever.

The film will star Emily Bett Rickards as Mildred Burke. It will be centered on the career, personal life, and legacy of the pro wrestler. The film will be based on the book, Queen of the Ring by the Pulitzer Prize-winning Jeff Leen.

Wrestling veteran Jim Ross is also reported to be working behind the cameras for the film. It will also star Josh Lucas as Billy Wolfe, and Marie Avgeropoulous as Babe Gordon. Despite being out of WWE with injury, Liv Morgan is set to shoot her scenes for the movie, which is reported to be starting this month.

Both Morgan and Flair are out of WWE on a hiatus, and their return dates are not yet confirmed.

What other WWE superstars have been a part of Hollywood films?

WWE is one of the most popular sports entertainment businesses. And over the years, several other WWE superstars have tried their hand at the movie entertainment business. Although, not every one of them reached the success level of The Rock, Cena, and Batista, here are a few of them.

Stone Cold Steve Austin starred in several movies from 2007 to 2015 including Grown Ups 2, and The Expendables. Triple H was a part of the Marvel film, Blade. While his mentee Seth Rollins is set to be a part of the upcoming Captain America film. 

Roman Reigns was seen in the 2019 film, Hobbs & Shaw. Some other names include Hulk Hogan, Randy Orton, and Ronda Rousey who have been a part of a few films but could not make it big in the industry.
