WWE fans have witnessed several intriguing storylines and characters throughout history. While we may not remember some of them, others are imprinted vividly. However, it is great to appreciate good storylines or characters even if they are not necessarily your favorite. Former WWE superstar Road Dogg recently did the same with one of WWE’s star kids.

In a recent episode of his podcast ‘Oh… You Didn’t Know?’, he discussed Dominik Mysterio’s career in WWE. The former wrestler didn’t fall short of praises while talking about the younger Mysterio. He also stated the reason behind his success.

Road Dogg can’t praise Dominik Mysterio enough

Road Dogg served WWE with his notable time in the promotion but was released in 2001. The wrestler eventually returned for several appearances and in-ring action. With so much experience on hand, he analyzed Dominik’s story arc with Rey Mysterio and discussed it on his podcast.

“Dom probably has the most heat in professional wrestling right now, and it was all because of this story they did with Rey [Mysterio]… He’s a huge star right now, I don’t know what else to tell you,” said the former WWE star. Although Dogg is praising Dom with all that he can, he is still pointing toward one great thing that can help make or destroy a wrestler’s stardom: a storyline.

He further added, “I don’t think you have to have two top guys at all if the story is interesting.”

Some WWE fans would agree to this, as there is an ongoing belief that Dom is in a good position in the company because of his father and the storyline they are in.

Dominik Mysterio has divided fans

A recent Twitter post aimed at sharing an interesting fact about Dom was filled with sarcastic fans in the comments. Almost all the comments were taking shots at the Judgement Day member for skipping NXT. People were certain that the reason behind this is how much Rey Mysterio is respected in the company.

Although it is unfair to other wrestlers, some fans are sure that this is the sole reason why Mysterio was able to skip his NXT time.

They also believe that the story arc involving the father-son duo is the reason why Dom’s career is doing well. After Road Dogg’s comment, we can see that the storyline is affecting people’s view of Mysterio as a performer. 

One thing is clear that Dominik has improved by leaps and bounds after turning heel and joining The Judgement Day. His character work has impressed fans and he seems to be thriving in the role.
