All wrestlers go through a number of changes in their gimmicks during their runs in a promotion. Although it is not a new concept for wrestling fans, it can often be hectic trying to keep a record of everything so far. When a gimmick starts or ends is often hard to define because it doesn’t have a solid boundary. However, some key features do hint to us about its beginning or end.

Seth Rollins is a star that has been through several changes throughout his wrestling career. Although The Visionary’s most recent change is still running smoothly, it would give you a better edge as a fan to know a bit more about his previous gimmicks.

It all mainly began when Rollins became a part of The Shield. The heel faction added great value to the wrestler’s portfolio. His performances back then included more of his aerial tricks and this was when he first got introduced to the title of The Architect. This went on from 2012 to 2014. The core idea behind this gimmick was Rollins having the backup idea for every problem of the faction.

This gimmick of his carried on when he later became a part of The Authority too. This time around, the WHC stayed till 2015. He had betrayed The Shield to become a part of The Authority which was a twist liked by several fans. After developing his mic skills immensely, the wrestler ultimately had to take a break because of an injury he faced.

Then, he was brought back in 2016 where he once suffered as a babyface. However, after suffering for a while, the ‘redesigned’ version of Seth Rollins was back to being a heel as WWE had planned. This went on till 2017. Then, after being Monday Night Rollins till 2019, it was time for the wrestler to become The Messiah.

The Messiah on the red brand was born after Rollins had finally accepted the heel persona he was always suitable to wear. He announced himself to be The Monday Night Messiah and thus began a new journey under a new gimmick. Although in between he had been called The Kingslayer for defeating Triple H too, but this re-introduction of the heel star in 2020 really caught up with WWE fans.

The next change fans noticed in him was a big one when he turned into a self-centered personality called The Drip God. Several fans considered this gimmick to be a fun era in Rollins’ wrestling career for a long time. However, it wasn’t long-lived as he ended up adorning The Visionary gimmick soon after.

This version of him arguably consists of several good things from his prior gimmicks. So, some fans even consider it his ‘ultimate’ gimmick. While we don’t know for how long it shall go on, like every gimmick, it’s also enjoyable while it lasts.
