The pro wrestling world has seen several promotions come up in order to compete with WWE. However, none has given the same quality of competition to WWE, until Tony Khan’s AEW showed up. A few years ago, Tony Khan and The Elite came up with AEW as a major threat to Vince McMahon’s WWE then. The company hired several upcoming names, top indie superstars, and various former WWE Superstars such as CM Punk, Samoa Joe, Malakai Black, Chris Jericho, and many more.

Fans were recently presented with a taste of a years-old iconic rivalry between CM Punk and his former foe. However, despite CM Punk being a baby face, fans would turn on him on the internet. As his enemy knocked his lights out.

Which iconic rival of CM Punk knocked him out during AEW Collision?

The latest episode of AEW Collision witnessed Samoa Joe win a match against Andrew Everett earlier in the night. He would then go on to potentially challenge CM Punk for a world title match at AEW All-In. However, later down in the night during the AEW World Trios Championship match, fans saw a glimpse of the iconic rivalry between Punk and Joe.

Toward the conclusive moments of the match, fans would see Samoa Joe come out, and drag CM Punk from the ringside to near the barricades. He would then choke Punk Out. With the FTR distracted, The House of Black would strike, and Brody King would pin Dax Harwood to secure the victory.

With a classic feud that spans around 19 years, Joe would demand his title shot from Punk with a vicious attack. However, despite their heel and babyface nature, fans would turn on Punk, and start showing their support for Samoa Joe.

Both Joe and Punk are exceptionally good wrestlers, and fans cannot wait to see their feud take place.

Wrestling and AEW fans turn against Punk after a sneaky attack by Samoa Joe

We know the Samoan Submission Machine for his ruthless and violent nature. Despite Joe being a heel and dishing out a brutal attack on Punk, fans would still show their support for the former WWE NXT Champion.

Punk’s attitude and lackluster run as the World Champion has cost him his fan support. Furthermore, the reaction became evident when Joe choked him out while demanding his World title shot.
