“Gone Too Soon”: Wrestling World Unite to Mourn the Saddening Demise of WWE Legend and Brother of Macho Man Randy Savage

Wrestling legend Lanny Poffo, born on 28th December 1954 in Calgary, Canada, recently took his last breath. ‘Leaping Lanny’ was one of the oldest pro wrestlers in sports entertainment. He goes back to the time when it was the golden era to uplift the ‘World Wrestling Federation’. The talented wrestler kept the fans hooked and happy with his performance in the ring. ‘The Genius’ departed from this world on 2nd February 2023 at the age of 68 to find peace for his soul. The cause of his death still remains a mystery. Some speculations have been around, but the official cause is unknown to the world. Regardless of the reason, the whole WWE world mourns for the legendary ‘Genius’.

It was already hard for everyone to deal with the loss of Poffo’s older brother Randy Savage back in 2011. Now, he himself left a huge place vacant in the hearts of all wrestling fans. In light of the news, all the tweets seem to have been tinted black due to the saddening incident. All wrestling legends, along with fans, have shared their feelings on the passing of ‘Leaping Lanny’.

The wrestling world sent in a huge shock

As soon as the news came in, the internet started rushing to pay its respects. All the people who have loved the former WWF wrestler forever couldn’t stop their emotions from flowing all across the internet. The most disheartening goodbyes come from those who are closely related to the legends. In this case, Lanny Poffo’s dear friend and popular wrestler, Sean Waltman. ‘X-Pac’ is also widely known for his appearance in the WWF.

“Rest in peace, my friend,” wrote Waltman. This goodbye couldn’t get more heartbreaking. As the fans would hope to recover from it, others also joined in to pay their respects.

People still cannot believe the news presented to them, “ah man, Leaping Lanny?” They cannot be blamed as it is indeed very heartbreaking.

“Another sad loss in wrestling,” wrote a wrestling fan. This shows how people still haven’t recovered from losing Randy Savage where ‘The Genius’ has also left us alone.

“Another brother gone too soon. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Rest in peace,” tweeted a fan. This fact is indeed pretty upsetting how both the brothers are no more in our world.

“Whoa wait, what?! Oh my goodness, this is so sad. I can only hope he and Randy had the perfect, happiest reunion,” wrote somebody with a lot of hope in their heart. We also wish that both brothers are now in a better place.

Dave Meltzer, the popular American wrestling journalist, paid his respect by saying, “very sorry to hear about the death of Lanny Poffo. Best to family and friends.” His sweet words are surely appreciated by Poffo’s close family members.

WWE’s very own announcer and commentator Byron Saxton shared, “I randomly met Lanny Poffo at the airport a few years ago.  To my surprise, we actually spent a considerable amount of time conversing about a variety of topics. Mr. Poffo could not have been any nicer or more personable. I’m truly saddened to hear of his passing.” Fans probably did not know about their bond, but now they won’t be able to stop thinking about it.

“With a very, very heavy heart, I’ve been asked to let everyone know about the passing of our friend and colleague Lanny Poffo, The Genius. RIP Lanny,” wrote WWE legend and Hall of Famer. The breaking out of the news was really upsetting indeed.

Another WWE face decided to pay his respect, “RIP Lanny Poffo,” wrote Bruce Prichard. Wishing ‘The Genius’ the best for his afterlife.

It comes as no surprise that it is a huge shock for all. However, everybody in this world has to experience such an incident several times in their lives.

The wrestling legend is now free

The WWF wrestler is now free from worldly pain. Lanny Poffo can now be reunited with his departed family. Although the rest of the family, friends and fans will miss him for his time in this world, they need not worry as he will always stay alive in our hearts. As long as pro wrestling will be alive, Poffo won’t be left behind when it comes to paying respect to legendary wrestlers.
