John Cena has been a massive part of the WWE since he debuted in 2002. Not only did he feud with wrestlers who got into the business with him, but also ones who were already there. This brings us to his short feud with ECW Original Sabu. Sabu feuded with Cena back in 2006, four years after the Cenation Leader debuted. They had one PLE match, which was an Extreme Lumberjack Match at WWE Vengeance. While on the Stories With Brisco And Bradshaw show, he was asked about his experience with Cena. For Cena fans, this comes as no shock as the Hollywood star has earned a reputation for his helpful and gracious nature. In fact, this particular quality of his must have been noticed by the higher-ups. It was the wrestling promotion that must have seen the same qualities Sabu mentioned about Cena and granted him the privilege of making his debut against then-top star: Kurt Angle.

Despite losing the match, the WWE faithful knew that it was a sign of things to come as the relatively unknown Cena then stood his ground against the Olympic gold medal winner and didn’t look fazed. The WWE icon’s adaptability dynamic with his peers outside the ring and his ability to adapt to his opponent’s style surely paved the way for his success.
