The Money in The Bank premium live event saw Seth Rollins reclaim his throne as the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. In the lead-up to his match against Finn Balor, Rollins made a mega-crossover appearance at NXT and defended his World Title against Bron Breakker in a winning effort.

That said, there are more up-and-coming talents that Seth Rollins would like to rub elbows with. One of the NXT stars that Rollins views as a standout is none other than the reigning NXT Champion, Carmelo Hayes.

A few weeks ago, after Seth Rollins defeated Bron Breakker at NXT, Rollins was ambushed by Finn Balor. Balor ruthlessly drove a chair to the injured back of The Visionary. As Balor prepared to deliver a Coup De Grace from the top rope, he was warded off by Carmelo Hayes. Rollins later thanked Hayes for the save.

During the Money in The Bank post-show media scrum, Seth Rollins was asked the names of NXT stars with whom he would like to step into the ring going forward. Without hesitation, Rollins picked Carmelo Hayes in response.

He said, “I would be remiss to not mention the NXT Champion himself, Mr. Carmelo Hayes. I think he’s super talented. I would love to get in the ring with him. And, I think our styles would match really well.”

Without a doubt, Carmelo Hayes is the current top star in NXT. He beat Bron Breakker at NXT Battleground to retain his NXT Championship. Considering Hayes’ in-ring prowess, his match with Rollins would be a top-notch athletic display. Furthermore, Seth Rollins praised the NXT Heritage Cup Champion, Nathan Frazer, for his recent match against Dragon Lee. It should be noted that Frazer has been mentored by Seth Rollins.

He added, “There’s just a ton of cats down there. If I don’t say, Nathan Frazer, he’s going to beat me up. He’s going to give me hell, ‘hey mate, why didn’t you give me a rub’. He’s coming a long way. You know, he just had a fantastic match with Dragon Lee recently on NXT. There’s a lot of up-and-coming talent down there. Carmelo is the one that jumps off the page to me.”

Nevertheless, Seth Rollins is a fighting Champion. And it won’t come as a surprise if he defends the World Heavyweight Championship in NXT once again. One way or another, his match against the up-and-coming talents of NXT will take place in the future.

But, for now, Seth Rollins needs to be worried about one man only.

Is Damien Priest next in line?

Seth Rollins had already proven his dominance over Damien Priest after defeating him in a one-on-one match on an edition of Raw with the World Title on the line. However, now that Priest has claimed the Money in the Bank briefcase, Rollins is more vulnerable as Champion than ever.

Priest made his way to ringside during Seth Rollins’ match against Finn Balor. Although Rollins was bothered by Priest’s ominous presence, it failed to pay dividends for Finn Balor. In fact, Priest distracted Balor, allowing Seth Rollins to capitalize.

The Judgement Day members were then seen arguing after the match. For now, Priest may have some explaining to do to Finn Balor. However, sooner or later, Damien Priest will redirect his focus to Seth Rollins.
