Goldberg recalls expecting his WWE retirement match after losing to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia. But Vince McMahon reportedly backed out of the deal. In the resurfaced interview on the Steve & Captain Evil podcast, Goldberg expressed disappointment over the disagreement. He understood that his loss to Reigns would lead to his retirement match, which didn’t happen.

In the trending Instagram video from January, Goldberg can be seen saying, “I had COVID. I remember calling him from my house and saying, ‘Listen, here is the deal. I’ll do it if you give me a retirement match.’ I did what he asked.” The match was against Reigns in Elimination Chamber in 2022.

He added,” I put myself in a horribly s***ty situation to get what I wanted to but to satiate him and give him what he wanted. The problem is, he never held up his bargain.” He stated that he did not get time to work out when he had Covid and still, he went and finished his job. But to his disappointment, McMahon did not hold up his part of the deal. He also called Vince McMahon a piece of sh*t.

However one thing positive did come out after this interview. A WWE star offered Goldberg a retirement match after hearing this incident.

Ivar offers Goldberg a retirement match

In 2016, Goldberg returned to WWE after 12 years and challenged Brock Lesnar to a match. Their showdown at Survivor Series shocked the world when Goldberg defeated Lesnar dominantly. This victory marked Goldberg’s return to WWE glory, leading to multiple WWE Universal Championship reigns.

However, his last match was with Reigns in 2022 where he lost to him as per the deal with McMahon. Well after seeing the interview Ivar reached out on Twitter to challenge Goldberg for a retirement match.
