At AEW Full Gear, Maxwell Jacob Friedman aka MJF defeated Jon Moxley to win the World Championship. His win came after William Regal, Moxely’s mentor, betrayed him and handed brass knuckles to MJF to pick up the win.

Many fans thought that this was the beginning of a new alliance between the former WWE legend and MJF. However, in the recent episode of AEW Dynamite, MJF brutally attacked Regal with brass knuckles to leave him lying in the ring. Regal had to be carried out by the paramedics and transported to an ambulance.

As the video of MJF’s attack and Regal being carried out went online, fans couldn’t believe what happened and shared their thoughts.

Fans react to MJF attacking William Regal on AEW Dynamite

Maxwell Jacob Friedman, has been one of the top acts in AEW for some time. In fact, it wouldn’t be too off the mark to say that he is among the best heels in the wrestling industry today.

After capturing his first AEW World title, the Salt of the Earth unveiled a new title belt for himself and even took a shot at wrestling legend Bruno Sammartino.

But the biggest shock of the evening was yet to come. He talked about how Regal has given everything to the business for 40 years but then blindsided him with the brass knuckles in a vicious move.

MJF hit Regal on the back of his head and closer to the neck. It left 54-year-old Regal lifeless in the ring, before paramedics came and carried him out on the stretcher. Later they placed him in an ambulance as a concerned Daniel Bryan looked on.

Although the injury could very well be part of a storyline, what adds semblance of reality is that Regal had a serious neck injury many years ago that affected his health badly.  Moreover, he admitted to having suffered brain bleeds in 2018.

As the video of MJF attack’s attack on Regal and him being carried out on a stretcher hit the internet, fans showed their concern for the former WWE star.

Some fans also blasted MJF for his actions.

Kayfabe or not, this was a real scary bump to take for William Regal, especially given his past health issues with his neck and brain. We hope Mr. Regal is fine after this incident and his injury is only a storyline.
