‘I Was Never Gonna Date Another Wrestler’: Married for Two Years, Seth Rollins Reveals How He Almost Never Ended Up With Becky Lynch

Seth Rollins has been riding high since he became the World Heavyweight Champion of the WWE. And tribute much of his success to his better half, Becky Lynch. The workhorse champion recently revealed that the couple has an understanding relationship with each other. In addition, Rollins also admitted that he always thought he would never date a wrestler. 

The WWE power couple is currently at the top of their respective divisions. Although Becky Lynch is not currently the top Champion, the six-time Women’s Champion is a revered mainstay on Raw. 

Seth Rollins calls his relationship with Becky Lynch a godsent

Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins started dating ‘The Man’, Becky Lynch, in 2019. The couple welcomed their daughter, Roux, into their lives in 2020 and exchanged vows the following year, in 2021. They are currently the most talked-about couples in pro wrestling. Both superstars have carved out a respected wrestling career. However, Rollins never thought he would date another wrestler. 

While speaking on The Impaulsive podcast, Rollins revealed how cathartic of an impact Becky Lynch had on his life as his wife. Rollins counted his blessings because the couple gets along so well. Not to mention that they are both on the same schedule. Their like-mindedness is what makes them a close-knit pair.

He said, “I always thought that I was never gonna like date another wrestler.” He went on to say that Becky was always aware of what Seth Rollins was thinking during his rough spells. He further stated,  “So, like, there’s no pressure for her, for me to like- ‘Hey, get your sh*t together, we got this to do on Tuesday or Wednesday,’ you know. Like, she gets it so if she’s got to pick up extra slack or something like that or just be understanding, have a conversation like, she knows how to talk to me when when I’m not feeling great about how a promo went.”

Although Seth Rollins was a well-established star before he married Lynch, he claimed that much of his success in the last 5 years would not have been possible without her He then added, “It’s been godsend”.

While Seth Rollins thought he would never date a wrestler, Becky Lynch was apprehensive about dating Seth Rollins. 

Lynch had expressed her fears about their relationship turned public

When Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch’s relationship became public knowledge, WWE capitalized on it. In 2019, WWE pitted Rollins and Lynch against Baron Corbin and Lacey Evans at Extreme Rules in a winner-take-all match. 

At the time, the couple was at the pinnacle of their careers. Seth Rollins was the Universal Champion and Becky Lynch was the Raw Women’s Champion. 

While speaking with Cosmopolitan UK, The Man revealed that she was afraid of working a storyline alongside her real-life significant other. She said, “I was worried about us getting involved in a storyline in WWE and how that would be received.”

The match saw the couple pick up the win. And not long after, Lynch went on a hiatus due to her pregnancy. That was the last time that the couple was seen working on a storyline together.
