“I’m Ready to Move On”: Trish Stratus Puts Retirement Rumors in the Bin but Does Not Want to Feud With Becky Lynch Anymore

The world of pro wrestling is famous for rivalries. Big names do end up in the ring, either teaming up or facing against each other. One such rivalry that is popular amongst fans currently is the rivalry between Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch. The rivalry began after WrestleMania 39 this year. As their feud draws to a close, there are rumors that Stratus may move away from WWE. But according to the former Women’s Champion that is not the case.

Amidst rumors of her opting for retirement, the Canadian WWE star shed some light on her retirement and her rivalry with Big Time Becks.

Trish Stratus says she is ready to move on

In a conversation with Joshua Axelrod of the Post-Gazette, Stratus said that the storyline with Lynch has been a bit of a stretch now. According to her, it is her time to move on. “I’m ready to move on, do other things”. she said.

Further on in the discussion, she said that she hoped to cross paths with different rivals, thus dismissing the rumors of her retirement. Looking back at her rivalry she said “We’ve had a good little run and it’s been really fun. But it’s been a little long.” implying the fact that she is tired because of the stretched storyline.

Fans are at ease when they get to know that they will still be able to witness Trish Stratus in the ring for some more time. But people are wondering how this storyline will end.

Rivalry between Stratus & Lynch

Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus were originally supposed to go against each other at this year’s SummerSlam. However, due to some undisclosed reasons, the match was canceled. Later on, two weeks after SummerSlam, Lynch and Stratus faced off against each other in Stratus’s homeland, Canada on RAW. However, the match ended in a double countout. Stratus had earlier beaten Lynch at Night of Champions and the two will now meet at Payback.

Now Stratus and Lynch are set to face each other in a cage match at WWE Payback this September. Even though Stratus says the storyline has been wrong, fans have been able to enjoy the feud.
