The partnership between his production firm and Discovery to create a special Shark Week has resulted in “The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment” offering a special series this weekend. This year’s host and first Master of ceremonies is none other than Dwayne Johnson.

The Shark Week will begin on the 24th of July and will provide 25 episodes till July 30. Alongside Johnson, the show will also feature some celebrity guests including Tracy Morgan, Sal Vulcano, James Murray, and Brian Quinn.

Johnson posted the video on Instagram and said that they filmed all the content in his native state of Hawaii. In Polynesian tradition, these magnificent predators, Aumakua, are immensely respected and idolized.

In case you don’t know, The Hawaiian word Aumakua that means ancestral gods, comprises the words ‘au’ which denotes a period or era, and ‘makua’ which means a parent, parent generation, or ancestor.

When the chance arose to do a shark show, the Brahma Bull seized it with both hands since he always respected his heritage and where he came from. Meanwhile, before his show, he shares his crazy shark encounter story.

Shark encounter story from Dwayne Johnson

The Great One is now preoccupied with advertising DC League of Super-Pets, his new movie. Johnson recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! show to promote this film. In consideration of his upcoming Shark Week show, during the chat with guest host Kerry Washington, he was asked if he had ever come across a shark.

Johnson replied, “I did. I had an encounter one time. I was swimming off the coast in Australia and I had a run-in with a great white. Yeah, it was crazy.”

Kerry questions The Rock about how he escaped that situation. Johnson then replied, “They say you either stay still or if they start to attack, you should (punches). Like you hear that crazy story about punching sharks right in the nose or wherever you can or in the eyes. And that’s what I started to do.”

He added, “Like that was the only thing I knew how to do was just you know, just try and punch and then punch back that’s what you do(laughs). Do everything you can to get away when you feel like they are going to (attack).”

The second part of the narrative, which he revealed, is that he awoke from that dream, proving that the story was all a fake. However, due to his physique, everyone found his tale of the shark encounter to be quite believable. After hearing this story, everyone will certainly be interested in Johnson’s new show.
