“It’s Ironic”: Wrestling Veteran Once Revealed Millionaire Brock Lesnar’s Biggest Inability in His Early Years at WWE’s Helm

Brock Lesnar has established himself as one of the biggest attractions in combat sports today. WWE set him up for great things early in his career and he was labeled as ‘The Next Big Thing’. One of his early feuds was with the Hardy Boys on the main roster. The dynamic tag team did their job well of getting the rookie over.

Matt Hardy, along with his brother Jeff, did a great job making Lesnar look like an unstoppable monster. Hardy says that during that period Lesnar was thankful to the duo and promised to return the favor.

But Hardy says that when after he became a top draw in the company, ‘The Beast’ was a changed person.

Brock Lesnar didn’t want to look weak

Matt Hardy, a former multiple-time tag team champion, stated that during Lesnar’s early days in WWE, he was grateful to The Hardy Boyz for helping him out.

However, Hardy said when he was going strong during his ‘Matt Hardy Version 1’ gimmick and had a match with Lesnar on SmackDown, the former WWE Champion didn’t return the favor.

In an interview uploaded by Wrestling Shoot Interviews on YouTube, ‘The Angelic Diablo’ narrated what happened that night.

Hardy

said, “I remember Brock kept coming back down the course of the day and he was like ‘Nah, you’re getting a little too much’. ‘This needs to come out’. ‘We need changes’ and so and so, ‘…because that makes me look weak.”

He continued, “And I just remember my head I was going what about motherf****r when you said you make sure if there’s ever anything I can do for you that I’m going to help you”.

Hardy says Lesnar changed after becoming WWE Champion

Hardy pointed that this change in Brock Lesnar’s attitude came after he became the WWE Champion.

The former tag team champion claimed, “That was a big change in Brock you know, over the years. Just like at this point he’d been the champion. He was the top guy and he could have really helped elevate me there by going out and having a good match and hanging with him one-on-one and he kept trying to cut my s**t out you know right and left man he’s well i don’t know it kind of makes me look weak.”

Top guys in the industry protecting themselves is nothing new. But because of his words early in his career, Hardy was perhaps right to feel aggrieved over the issue.

However, there seems to be no such animosity between Matt Hardy and the former UFC Champion currently over the incident. The duo seems to have moved on with their respective lives.
