John Cena is the epitome of a superstar in the modern pop culture era. His muscles, skills, and achievements all speak volumes about the type of celebrity he has become. But it doesn’t always start like that. Just like other celebrities, Cena was also a victim of numerous bullying in his development years as a kid. While it is unthinkable for a man like Cena to be bullied, he came from a completely unique background than any of us could imagine.
Even after becoming a wrestler, it took a lot of time before Cena was the mega-star in wrestling that we know today. His climb to the top of the mountain in WWE was a slow one. In the beginning, he almost failed to make a mark in the company. But after a few changes, he could become the biggest star that people were talking about. But how did he deal with all that bullying and negativity back then?

John Cena once opened up about his way of dealing with bullying
In 2017, The Cenation Leader gave an interview to Ned Ehrbar of CBS News. When asked “What’s your own method for dealing with all that negativity?”, the former WWE Champion replied, “I’m 40 years old, and I’ve been dealing with this for almost two decades, but to a 12-year-old kid who’s being cyber-bullied or a 20-year-old individual who’s really trying to find their way in life, it’s not as easy.”

He continued, “I’m in a different place now than I was 20 years ago, 30 years ago, so I guess from a level of experience I can reassure people that it’s not the end of the world, and first and foremost be proud to be yourself because that will set you up for the next 20 years.”

Even when he was at the top of the company, he got a lot of backlash for never changing his wrestling character. But Cena struggled through it and now he is making wonders in the Hollywood business as well.
