WWE, the professional wrestling company founded in 1953, is currently at the top of the wrestling world. WWE has been entertaining its fans with engaging storylines and phenomenal in-ring action for over 70 years. But now, the creatives are finding it difficult to produce good storylines.

Recently, The Undertaker appeared on ‘Hotboxin with Mike Tyson’. There he talked about how social media is acting as an obstacle in the way of a good WWE storylines.

According to him, now, the WWE Universe is more into what’s happening in the life of their favorite superstar outside the ring. They want to dig deep into the personal stuff rather than the in-ring action. And, it’s all social media driven.

While talking to the host, ‘The Deadman’ said, “Our fan base in general, they’re more concerned now with what’s happening behind the scenes and not so much what’s going on in the ring. They want the dirt. It’s like anything else in our society. It’s all social media driven.”

The Undertaker elaborated on how social media is affecting WWE storylines

He further elaborated that as everyone is posting about their lives on social media, it becomes difficult for a fan to separate a superstar’s in-ring character from his actual personality. And, this is adversely affecting the good storylines.

“Everybody puts their life out there. It’s hard for me watching everything like, so you’re this guy on TV, then you go on social media and you’re somebody completely different. So for me, it’s kind of a huge disconnect, but it is what it is and that’s where we’re at. I don’t necessarily like it, but there’s nothing I can do about it. It’s just the way it is. It really makes things harder to have good storylines and have people invested.”
