Fans have been showering CM Punk with love since the star returned to WWE after almost a decade. There is a lot of excitement to see him fight in the ring once again. After a week full of speculation of which brand would be his new home at WWE, Punk signed with Monday Night Raw on the 12/11 episode of Raw. However, his first match might be something that a lot of fans might miss, unless you live in Inglewood, California.

Why fans might miss CM Punk’s first match since his return?

Cm Punk has been booked to perform at the Kia Forum on December 30 in Inglewood, California. However, the first match of The Best in the World since his return will not be a televised match. He will be performing at the WWE Live Holiday Tour, which is not televised. Even though he returned during the Survivor Series PLE, he did not have any televised matches as he was still a free agent.

CM Punk shares history with Dominik Myserio

Back in 2010, Punk was an edgy heel who had a particular interest in Rey Mysterio‘s World Heavyweight Championship title. Due to this, the two often had run-ins with each other on various occasions. But one time, Punk took it a little too far, which resulted in a nightmare-fueled moment for Dominik Mysterio. In an episode of SmackDown back in 2010, Papa Mysterio decided to celebrate his daughter Aliyah Mysterio’s birthday in the ring. The whole Mysterio family, including young Dity Dom and Mrs Mysterio, was present there. However, the party was gatecrashed by Punk and his stablemates Luke Gallows and Selena Deebs.

What happened next was Punk started singing “Happy Birthday to You” for Aliyah Mysterio. While for some it was a moment that brought fans on the edge of their seats, it was a particularly terrifying moment for Rey Mysterio and especially Dominik Mysterio. Cut to 2023, CM Punk was reminiscing about the moment back from his heel days. He shared an image from the infamous moment on his social media. Dominik Mysterio, who is now all grown up and a heel himself, replied this time with a befitting message. Do you think their rivalry will go a long way?

One take at a time

For me pro wrestling has two things that I like the most, storytelling and fighting. Let?s just say movies are failing to keep me entertained in those departments. I grew up watching WWF and not WWE and any hardcore fan will agree that the two are not the same, but I love both iterations.
