‘The Taker of Souls’ might have had a voyage through sins in the squared circle. But for what he contributed to the professional wrestling entertainment, his offenses are definitely swept away like a cloud, and his sins like the morning mist. Because, for the WWE universe, The Undertaker is the ‘Lord’ of darkness that blessed the ring with his surreal resurrections.

Recently, ‘The Deadman’ shed some light on his path with God and his in-ring persona that involved with eerie, cimmerian shade. Being a prominent character among WWE’s occult-related storylines, The Undertaker had no choice but to face the demons. However, the Mark Calaway behind that gimmick had a lot to talk about his conflicts with faith and religion.

After over 30 eventful years in WWE, Taker retired in 2020, WrestleMania 36, winning the ‘Boneyard Match’ against AJ Styles. This year, WWE CEO and chairperson Vince McMahon inducted Taker into the Hall of Fame class of 2022 alongside Vader, Queen Sharmell and The Steiner Brothers. Moreover, ‘The Phenom’ is still the most accomplished and affected character created by WWE.

Currently, The Undertaker is enjoying his retirement life. Also, Taker and his wife Michelle McCool go to church with their daughter, Kaia Faith Calaway, and their adopted son, Kolt.

WWE Legend The Undertaker was scared of committing to God

While speaking to Sorted Magazine, Mark Calaway reflected his belief in God and how he feared of rejection because he did not live a religious life for years. He said, “I believed in God but didn’t invest in a religious life. Because I was too scared of the rejection. I knew investing in God meant arresting a number of demons and having to come to terms with things I had done in the past, and that’s a bigger fear, as a person, that I ever had in the ring“.

Moreover, the ‘Ministry of Darkness’ concluded with good hopes. “I feel good, I feel happy. Happier than I ever have done in my life. I have some way to go. But I have already gone further than I ever felt possible.’’ He added that the respect in wrestling does not come from the ring. It is more about how you carry yourself outside. It is about how you treat other people; the WWE legend shared his wise words.

The Undertaker delivered a brilliant speech at the Hall of Fame ceremony. Although he has not informed of any plans to return. He said “Never Say Never” during the acceptance. If it ever happens, WWE fandom would certainly be more than pleased.
