The Rock is an iconic WWE Superstar as well as a Hollywood megastar. He has truly achieved greatness in every field he has stepped into. He is an inspiration for many WWE Superstars who grew up watching him create history in the promotion. This is also true for one of WWE’s latest recruits, Gable Steveson.
Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson will soon be on WWE TV. Steveson competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games and won the gold medal in 125 Kg Men’s Freestyle Wrestling. In late 2021, WWE signed Steveson to train and eventually compete in WWE. The exceptional athlete currently is with WWE and is expected to make his debut soon.

Gable has publically claimed many times that competing in WWE is one of his dreams. His signing with the company is extremely exciting for WWE fans and seems like it is so for Steveson himself. Obvious comparisons are being made between him and Kurt Angle, another Olympics gold medalist. However, Gable feels he would be much closer to being the next Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

In an interview with KTSP, Steveson revealed that he sees himself as more of an entertainer in addition to being a wrestler. Steveson said, “But for right now, it is WWE, I am going to be a showman and be the next Rock. I am going to try to do the best that I can.”
That is one mighty claim by the Olympic gold medalist. But with his athletic prowess and infectious personality, sky is the limit. With the right character and direction, Steveson could be WWE’s next big thing.

There is no doubt that The Rock is one of the biggest megastars in the world right now. He has been called the most bankable actor in movies many times. The Rock has a huge history with WWE as well. His family is a big part of the wrestling business. Dwayne was the most popular WWE Superstar of his time and his aura has only grown.

In cutting promos or engaging the audience in a match, there is no one better than The Rock. After ruling the hearts of WWE fans for years, The Rock has now transcended from WWE into global superstardom. That being said, he still remains true to his roots and often interacts with current wrestlers in WWE.
