“No Was Not an Option”: Dwayne Johnson Opens Up on Struggle to Bring Henry Cavill Back as Superman

Dwayne Johnson is finally taking over the superhero world, and he’s taking it swiftly. By bringing back one of the most requested actors by fans, Johnson has brought happiness to many fans’ hearts. He took over the hearts of wrestling fans and now he’s taking over the hearts of superhero fandoms. But what’s next for Johnson, now that Henry Cavill is in the DCEU corner?

When it was announced that Johnson would be playing Black Adam in his own origin story, the internet broke. It was lauded as the best move that DC could make after the disastrous response to Batman v Superman and the Justice League. But who would know that The Rock would end up taking over the superhero genre in just one movie?

With only Black Adam, he has made the entire internet talk about him. And not only the critics but the fans who were overjoyed to find out that Johnson kept his promise and delivered what the fans wanted.

Dwayne Johnson signals the future for DCEU after Thank You Rock took over Twitter

After the #ThankYouRock took over Twitter with fans applauding Johnson for bringing back Cavill, he tweeted about the future of the DCEU. First, he talked about how difficult it was to bring Cavill back. Then, he pressurized the fact that Cavill was essential to the DCEU and that the fans come first when making something that they dearly care about it.

Lastly, he hinted at a meeting that Superman and Black Adam would eventually have in the movies. The producer, Hiram Garcia, has previously opened up that they are looking to bring Black Adam and Superman to face each other in the movies or even work together. But when there was a backlash from the fans, Johnson cleared the air out that this will happen after a lot of movies, building the base first.

But this leaves many to speculate what the future of the DCEU could be. From Cavill’s Instagram post it is clear that Man of Steel 2 is in the works, but what about Black Adam? Will he show up in the new SHAZAM movie? Or will he make an appearance in Man of Steel 2? Only time will tell what happens to the DCEU after this.
