Possible Reasons Why WWE Released Samoa Joe, Peyton Royce and Other Major Superstars
WWE shocked Wrestling fans all around the world with its massive offloading of main roster talents last night. The names involved in this series of releases include the likes of Samoa Joe, Chelsea Green, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Mickie James, Tucker, Kalisto, Bo Dallas, Mojo Rawley, and Wesley Blake.
The fact that these talents had a great potential to succeed makes it a huge loss in the eyes of fans, and WWE has received a large amount of criticism for letting go of massive names like Samoa Joe, Peyton Royce, and Billie Kay.

Despite all this, the company does have a logical reason behind these releases and it may come to light over the next few months. For starters, WWE released its logjam of Superstars on the same day as it did last year as part of the April budget cuts.
Although the reason for this layoff isn’t revealed yet, it can be assumed that WWE is making more budget cuts to deal with the weekly expenses that come with shows. The absence of fans has really put the promotion in an uncomfortable financial situation in which it is still trying to plug the gaps.
WWE made unfortunate although sensible releases
The next question that arises is- Why these Superstars and not others? The answer is simple in this regard- WWE probably did not see a profitable turn of events keeping these talents on its payroll.

Samoa Joe and Chelsea Green have been out of action due to injuries and the latter has been troubled by them every time she is given a chance. The bitter reality is that these two won’t be able to perform constantly in the ring which is why WWE had no return while keeping them on contract.
As for the others in this list, the company may not have had anything for them in the long run. Peyton Royce and Billie Kay have been regular on Raw and SmackDown but they certainly don’t have a promising trajectory storyline-wise.

The other names in the list fall victim to the same reason- WWE has nothing for them in future storylines. They will be much better off expressing their talents on platforms and promotions that will offer them better chances.
The open space created by these releases will give more opportunities for new talent that may come in for NXT. We can only see how WWE replaces these vacancies in the weeks to come.
