AEW Double or Nothing exceeded expectations as a PPV and quite possibly delivered on every aspect. New stars got pushes and established stars showed why they were at the top of the chain while Sting proved that age is just a number. However, one name that was chanted throughout was Britt Baker D.M.D.

Baker has been proving herself through and through in AEW but reached her crowning moment at Double or Nothing where she humbled the defending Champion Hikaru Shida to win the AEW Women’s title for the first time.

Following her victory and the event itself, Baker joined the string of Superstars in the post-conference. Answering a question asked by Sports Journalist Jon Alba, the new Champion claimed that she is not only the face of the AEW Women’s division but of AEW entirely and the wrestling business as a whole.

Obviously high off her monumental victory, Baker’s popularity has shot through the roof. Fans respect her as a heel and know she has what it takes to be a star.

The live audience rallied behind her and chanted her name as she fought the defending Champion.

Hikaru Shida had a dominant reign and just crossed a year as AEW Women’s Champion before dropping it. The fact that Britt Baker was the one to end her historic run speaks volumes, and it truly marks the dawning of a new era.

The AEW Women’s Division has finally emerged as a leading side, spearheaded by opportunists.
