Retribution was made for the sole purpose of taking down the evils of WWE’s corporate games, but it seems as if the group has been blinded by internal tensions instead. The once cohesive faction is now under new leadership.

On the kickoff show of WWE Fastlane 2021, Retribution leader Mustafa Ali fought Matt Riddle in a brilliant technical display that showcased the best of both Superstars. Ali failed to win the WWE United States Championship from the ‘Bro’ and once again blamed his team.

Sick of his poor treatment towards them, members Reckoning and Slapjack left the ring. Following this, Ali continued his talking-down on Mace and T-Bar. Things then took an unexpected turn.

Mace and T-Bar caught Ali by the throat and delivered a joined Chokeslam to the man that brought them together! This indicated that Retribution had made up their minds and had chosen to part ways with the ‘leadership’ of Mustafa Ali.

Who’s the new leader for Retribution?

Now that their leader is out, the question arises- Who’s the new bandito? Before Ali unveiling as the true leader of the faction, T-Bar had grown to be a fan favorite thanks to his hilarious tweets and attacks on other Superstars.

We may see him reprise that role to lead Retribution into the path they’ve been wanting to take. Although, they may resort to take new leadership applications into consideration, which reignites the debate of who WWE ropes in to save this stagnating storyline.

T-Bar had been planning this betrayal, which wasn’t exactly a surprise, for a while before actually doing it. A few hours before Fastlane, he tweeted a cryptic message, which suggested a major turn on the event.

What’s next for Mustafa Ali?

Mustafa Ali has now been left in the water by his own band of rebels. Realizing his inability to actually lead them and only criticize, the rest of the faction probably decided they were better off on their own.

Ali has already tweeted what may possibly be his next trajectory with a picture on Twitter, although we are unsure of what this signifies. Will he continue with his role of opposing WWE or just move on to a different and fresher persona much like Apollo Crews?
