In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the Jungle Cruise co-stars explained how they got their roles. During this, Blunt was asked a question regarding claims that she first ghosted DJ for the movie. To which she replied in affirmative.

She stated, “Honestly it wasn’t intentionally hurtful it was just because I hadn’t read the script yet. And he sent a very nice video and I hadn’t read the script so I didn’t respond until I’d read the script.”

Additionally, DJ recounted how he sent her a video and took his time, and went all out. He revealed that Blunt was the only person he wanted for this project and that she had been asked. Yet she didn’t comment back on the video.

Additionally, DJ jokingly claimed that the sexiest guy alive cover he sent out was what convinced her to join the film. However, the $80m worth actress subsequently agreed that the depth in script was what genuinely won her.
