WWE superstar, Austin Theory, has had an interesting singles run on the Raw brand. Recently, he featured in a segment with WWE chairman, Vince McMahon, where he got slapped on last week’s Monday Night Raw.

However, this slap doesn’t mean that the WWE management is making another goofy character for the WWE Universe. According to veteran wrestling journalist, Dave Meltzer, McMahon sees great potential in Austin Theory.

And by the looks of it, Meltzer seems right about the situation. This seems true as several NXT superstars have been called upon the main roster, but none of them shared a segment with Vince McMahon.

Dave Meltzer reported in the ‘Wrestling Observer Newsletter‘ that Theory got so much TV time because this young talent gave a brilliant match against Big E on Raw.

The immediate contender for Big E’s championship is Seth Rollins and with Edge back into the mix, chances for Theory to get near a title look distant.

However, mid-card championships always work well for newcomers, and maybe the WWE Universe will get behind the young talent. However, given the fickle nature of the business, this whole idea could be dropped.
