As the ex-chairman of WWE, Vince McMahon saw his fair share of ups and downs with his company. He took a big risk with his vision for pro wrestling, faced all kinds of opposition from people, and on a few occasions, even put the future of WWE in doubt.
But McMahon persisted and overcame these obstacles to establish WWE as the top brand in sports entertainment. One of the biggest challenges that he faced was the infamous steroid trial in the early 1990s.

After a much drawn-out saga that affected a lot of people, WWE and McMahon emerged from it with new zeal.
Although fans are familiar with the trial proceeding that followed the steroid scandal, WWE legend Ric Flair recently revealed an outlandish story around the saga involving prominent journalist Geraldo Rivera.
Flair claims Rivera had people breaking into the house of Vince McMahon
The early 90s posed a tough challenge to Vince McMahon and WWE. Many of its stars were accused of taking steroids and a trial began. The Titan Towers in Stamford, Connecticut were shaken.
The steroid scandal impacted WWE as the company took its time to recover from this blow. Journalists and reporters hogged Vince McMahon and wanted every bit of information on this controversial news piece.
Journalist Geraldo Rivera, an investigative reporter of that time also went after McMahon.

Speaking on his “To Be the Man” podcast with Conrad Thompson, Ric Flair claimed that Geraldo had people break into Vince McMahon’s house. Flair was addressing McMahon’s return rumors and talked about how much his former boss has gone through when he brought up the Geraldo story.
Flair asked Thompson, “You didn’t know Geraldo broke into their home?” Thompson replied he had no knowledge of this. The Nature Boy claimed, “Yeah, it happened back when the steroid trial was going on. Yeah, I’m absolutely telling you the truth. I don’t say he broke in physically. He had people do it.”
After Thompson again said he knew nothing about it, the 16-time world wrestling champion said people close to the situation told him this.
Flair was wary of possible legal action after his claim and stated, “Well then make sure we get this right, but I’ve been told that by some very close people to the situation.[…] Let’s get our facts before this airs so I don’t get lawsuits from Geraldo. I’ve been told that by people that were right there.”
