The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar enters any ring and absolutely dominates every match he fights in. Royal Rumble especially is one of his biggest playgrounds as he gets to ferry as many people to Suplex City as he wants. However, owing to recent allegations tying him to the lawsuit that has been filed against Vince McMahon, Lesnar was removed from the list of Rumble participants.

The absence of Brock Lesnar was felt by WWE fans who were expecting him to make a comeback. But, while Lesnar was absent, NXT powerhouse Bron Breakker entered the match and did not disappoint. The 26-year-old rained hell on the other competitors, shining brightly as he fought. In fact, it very much looked like Breakker was given the role of Lesnar.

Bron Breakker replaces Brock Lesnar in Royal Rumble 2024

Brock Lesnar’s return to WWE at the Royal Rumble was canceled due to the ongoing lawsuit against Vince McMahon. Bron Breakker stepped in for Lesnar in the main event, mirroring the planned face-off with Gunther originally intended for Lesnar. The Wrestling Observer disclosed the alteration in plans.

Now while Cody Rhodes emerged as a winner in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, he wasn’t the only star of the show. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bron Breakker stepped in for Lesnar in the match. He said, “Bron Breakker essentially fulfilled Brock Lesnar’s role in the Royal Rumble last night. He came in when Lesnar was going to come in, threw out the guys Lesnar was going to throw out, and got thrown out exactly how Lesnar was going to get thrown out. (Bron got eliminated by Dominik Mysterio).” Meltzer explained that the change was likely made on Friday or possibly Saturday morning.

Notably, Breakker was not initially scheduled for the Rumble. Now the major question arises will Lesnar be back for WM 40?

Bron Breakker to replace Lesnar at WrestleMania 40?

The current situation with Brock Lesnar is a sensitive matter, prompting WWE and TKO to distance themselves from the allegations and Vince McMahon. The timing of the news just before the Royal Rumble was challenging for WWE. 

But it has allowed them to kick off The Road to WrestleMania and potentially move past the issues following McMahon’s recent resignation. Although WWE seemed keen on a match between Gunther and Brock Lesnar, Bron Breakker stepped in for Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.

In a backstage interview, Breakker confirmed his main roster status and hinted at the possibility of replacing Lesnar at WrestleMania. However, Breakker has expressed a desire to address some issues with The Judgment Day before committing to any further plans.
