Seasoned pro wrestling fans never take a promotion shift or retirement seriously. It was no different for Matt Cardona. The 38-year-old hasn’t been in WWE for over three years now. Ever since his contract ended with the Stamford-based company, he has made a name for himself in places like places like Impact, GCW, MLW, and the NWA.

Nevertheless, fans didn’t give up on their hope of getting the former Zack Ryder back in the WWE ring someday. But now, after Cardona’s latest tweet, they might change their mind.

Reading about fans’ growing curiosity about his potential return, the former WWE star hinted at his intent to resume the WWE stint if only the company reboots his character similar to what they did to Cody Rhodes.

He made it clear that he’s not okay with being a mid-carder anymore. Now, he completely dismissed the idea of a return in his latest Tweet.
