Cm Punk is one of the most divisive wrestling personalities in the pro wrestling world. After leaving WWE in 2014, and trying his hand at MMA and the movies, Punk would move to AEW in 2021 and would soon become one of the top stars on the roster.

However, last year Punk indulged in a media scrum, and call out certain wrestlers of AEW. This led to the infamous ‘brawl out’ controversy. However, soon Punk injured himself and be out of action for several months and required surgery.

During the media scrum, he would call out the EVPs of the company, The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, as well as Hangman Adam Page. Punk’s comments during the scrum caused major controversy as well as created rifts amongst the wrestlers.

The controversy became such a major talking point that all the involved wrestlers were removed from AEW programming. However, soon Punk’s injury was announced though there was no confirmation on his future in company.

Recently, it was reported that Punk is supposed to be in a meeting with Tony Khan and other AEW wrestlers to discuss his future in the company. As per Dave Meltzer, Punk could meet with Khan, Chris Jericho, The FTR, and a non-wrestling personality to discuss his future.

Fans are yet to receive a confirmation of his status. However, this news excited the fans, and they started reacting to it. Fans started slamming and bashing Tony Khan for his inability to bring along The Elite in the meeting with CM Punk.

As soon as Punk’s reported meeting with Khan and other wrestlers was announced on social media, fans flocked to the thread to react to it. They were particularly disappointed with the involvement of Jericho and FTR and started slamming Khan.

Fans believed that both these entities had nothing to do with Punk’s controversy last year, and they should not have been involved. They were of the opinion that instead Tony Khan should have fixed a meeting with The Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and Adam Page.

Fans constantly opined on the exclusion of The Elite. They felt that Tony Khan bringing Jericho and FTR was unnecessary and was a move that could have been avoided.

CM Punk is currently recovering from an injury, and there is no confirmation of his return date. There is no news of his return to AEW as well, and fans are waiting to receive a piece of solid news on that soon.
