Summer Rae Details How Her 2022 WWE Royal Rumble Appearance Came to Life: ” I Honestly Didn’t Even Really Get My Hopes Up”

The former Impact Pro Wrestling Women’s Champion Summer Rae details her return to WWE for the 2022 Royal Rumble PPV.
Summer Rae returned to WWE after five years of absence. Earlier in 2017, WWE released her because of her absence for a long time. But now, fans will see her back in action at the Royal Rumble.
Recently, Rae featured in The Sessions with Renee Paquette, where she shared her overall journey and detailed her reasons for leaving WWE. Additionally, she expanded on her reason to return to the esteemed organization. Rae had been with WWE since 2011 and she is familiar with many female wrestlers.

During her conversation, she mentioned her reason to return to WWE. She said, ” So I’m literally packing for Abu Dhabi. It’s like nine o’clock at night and I see John Cone’s name pop up on my phone and I went. I literally picked up the phone and said, “What do you want?”
It’s been four and a half years and he goes ‘Well putting together a list of like potential girls wanting to gauge your interest and I kind of was like I honestly didn’t even really get my hopes up, I said. “Well! That’s flattering and cool”
Summer Rae will be officially entering the Royal Rumble. Even she expressed how happy she was being called up back for it.

Summer Rae comments on former Divas Champion
The latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown featured Summer Rae in the audience. Additionally, she was happy about her return to the blue brand.

Praising the SmackDown female roster, she mentioned that the blue brand had some talented female wrestlers like Aliyah, Shotzi, Xia Li. However, she mocked the former women’s tag team champion, Natalya. Both women have a past rivalry and it seems it will continue.

In the past, both women have battled with each other, engaging in a feud on SmackDown. Summer Rae even slapped Natalya during a Total Divas episode. Recently, Summer Rae and Natalya both have tweeted regarding their Royal Rumble.
