“That’s What He Does”: Millionaire WWE Executive Reveals the Pros and Cons of Working With Billionaire Donald Trump

If you compile a list of the well-known people who contributed to WWE’s success, Donald Trump would surely be at the top. In addition to increased viewership, the former US President also contributed financially. Trump and Vince McMahon are known to be the closest of buddies and it aided ‘The Big Man’ in growing his company.

Trump has collaborated with WWE on multiple occasions, and most importantly, he also hosted WrestleMania at his venue. Speaking about the same, WWE veteran Bruce Prichard offered some insight on the pros and cons of working with Trump during the most important WWE events.

Prichard had worked with the company extensively and when he was asked about his time working with Trump, and what he liked and dislike about Trump’s venue.

Prichard stated, “Trump was actually great as promoter because that’s what he does. He promoted himself, he was promoting his casino and this was an opportunity for the Trump casino name to be on a national level, worldwide international level. As a destination.”

Although he appreciated how Trump had marketed it, he also shared that there were many elements of his venue that he find inconvenient. He stated, “There wasn’t a whole lot to like about it. We didn’t have dressing rooms. The dressing room was on a stage in the back of the facility. And rooms around it for us to do pre-tapes and us to do other production things really didn’t exist. It was old, it was ugly.”

Well, how Trump carried it out is a subject for discussion among wrestlers. But he made a unique record just for this.

The former US President hosted WrestleMania events not just once, but twice. At his Trump Plaza, he hosted WrestleMania 4 and 5. Given this, he is the only individual to have hosted consecutive WrestleMania events in the same venue. Many locations have hosted WrestleMania multiple times, but only Trump Plaza has done it twice in a row.

Given that the wrestling promotion has grown to be a huge organization that aims to bring WWE to new locations on a regular basis, Trump’s record may be difficult to surpass. Thus, it stands as a special WrestleMania record that will be hard for anybody to surpass.
