The Rock Solidifies His Legacy in Hollywood as He Wins a Major Award

‘The People’s Champ’ has been rocking in Hollywood with his massively successful projects in the past few years. He has come a long way since his WWE days, where he had a definite character and associated challenges. Moreover, it was something ‘The Rock’ was familiar with since his childhood.

When Dwayne Johnson shifted his focus into an acting career, many didn’t believe he could summit the peaks of fame in it. Also, the frame of reference he had of the stars who tried their fortune in Hollywood was not so motivating. However, DJ engraved his name on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and recently, he won the CinemaCon’s Entertainment Icon of the Decade award as well.

Recently, at CinemaCon, Dwayne Johnson received the award for the Entertainment Icon of the Decade from Warner Bros. pictures chairperson Toby Emmerich. The recognition is both from CinemaCon and WB for his accomplishments as an actor and producer in the past decade grossing a vast amount of profit allover the world. Moreover, he plays the titular superhero role in WB’s upcoming movie ‘Black Adam’, and stars in DC League of Super Pets as well.

Accepting the honor, the WWE superstar said, “I got lucky. I really worked hard and you know, a little bit of luck. A lot of luck over the years. I got lucky…Something like this is amazing. Thank you. We share this, and the Warner Brothers team, the DC team, we share this, all the studios in our business.”

Dwayne The Rock Johnson is only expanding his Hollywood legacy

Dwayne The Rock Johnson stepped into a new career through Beyond the Mat (1999) and The Mummy Returns (2001). After his illustrious tenure in WWE, in 2004, the Brahma Bull expanded his horizons by focusing on movies. He has had many sporadic non-wrestling appearances in the meantime until he came back and had a short period in the ring until 2013.

Currently, the former WWE champion has a TV series based on his life, named Young Rock. The actor has also received applause for his portrayal in the Fast & Furious franchise and its spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw, as well as the rebooted Jumanji series. However, ‘The Great One’ has succeeded in everything he has laid his hands on.
