At AEW’s Forbidden Door PPV, Bryan Danielson showed exactly why he is one of the most revered grapplers in pro wrestling. The American Dragon faced off against the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion, Kazuchika Okada, in the main event. After a hard-fought battle, Danielson secured the win in the match via submission. However, he suffered a grave injury in the process.

His most recent social media post indicates that the 42-year-old will take time away from the ring to heal. In addition, Danielson’s supporters responded with prayers and healing thoughts in response to his post.

Bryan Danielson is a household name in AEW. Even during his time in WWE, the submission specialist was a main-event superstar, having collided with legends like Triple H and Batista. The Blackpool Combat Club member took to Instagram ahead of AEW’s Blood & Guts edition to reveal the severity of his arm injury.

During the Forbidden Door media scrum, Danielson revealed that he had fractured his radius while wrestling with Okada earlier that night. And now he has relayed to his fans that he underwent surgery around two weeks ago.

According to him, he needed a steel rod and nine screws in his arm. Although the surgery went well, it is highly unlikely for Danielson to make his return to the ring anytime soon.

He wrote, “About to sit and watch #AEWDynamite, and thought I’d give an update on my arm. I got surgery about two weeks ago, where they put a steel rod and 9 screws in my arm. Surgery went well and now I’m on the road to recovery. I’m bummed I’m missing #BloodAndGuts (again!), but PAC is an excellent replacement on the BCC side. Thanks to everyone for all their support, and make sure to check out Dynamite tonight!”

Danielson has a history of debilitating neck injuries that led him to lose all his strength in his arms. It’s also worth noting that Danielson’s wife, Brie Bella, previously took to social media to reveal how grave her husband’s injury is. However, the fact that he finished the match with a broken radius is beyond commendable. It only goes to show that Danielson is as tough as nails.

His Instagram post drew nothing but love and support from his fans and other popular social media figures.

Although Danielson belongs to the villainous Blackpool Combat Club, he is one of the most loved wrestlers on the roster. He was relieved to learn that PAC had been brought in to fill in for him while he was away.

His absence from the stable, however, will be sorely missed. Nonetheless, popular social media figures took to Instagram to wish him a speedy recovery.
