But Theory sneakily attacked Escobar backstage right before the match. This led to him being deemed medically unfit to wrestle and, as the leader of the LWO, Mysterio took his place. Not only did he take his place, but he also convincingly defeated Theory, thus becoming the new United States Champion. Although Mysterio did this purely for the LWO, deep down, Escobar’s resentment might be mounting, especially as it could’ve been him in the ring.

And for that very reason exactly 2 weeks ago, Escobar respectfully asked Rey Mysterio for a title match and Mysterio gladly obliged. Although Escobar said that he has nothing but love and respect for Mysterio, the greed for the title might just bring out his evil side. We will only have to wait and watch to see what happens.

But speaking about title matches, Mysterio has made it very clear who he wants to have his next title match against.

Who does Rey Mysterio want to put his title on the line against?

A father’s job of disciplining his son stops at a particular age, but not in the case of Rey Mysterio. Mysterio wants to put his son ‘Dirty’ Dom in his place for his recent insulting comments. Dominik Mysterio recently called his father a “deadbeat” and also said it’s very sad that he had to win a title to take the attention away from his son.

That infuriated Rey Mysterio so much that he promised to slap him the next time they met. He even expressed that he wouldn’t mind putting his United States Championship on the line against his son. All this just to prove who the ultimate Champion really is.
