WWE might go for an off-beat plan for The Rock

A recent report disclosed that The Great One doesn’t have much time left in the wrestling ring. So, WWE has no option except to pitch a solid feud for the multi-time world champion at the soonest.

But the most anticipated one, The Rock vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, is starting to go off of the list gradually. Although many critics, speculations, and reports have heavily weighed in on the possibility of this marquee dream match taking place, the recent pointers hinted at something else.

Some sources stated that WWE insiders gave their nods to shift the matchup to as early as the Elimination Chamber PLE, although it’s far from being confirmed. Whether it comes to WrestleMania or Elimination Chamber, there are a lot of opinions and counter-opinions regarding the build-up.

While some see this as a proper booking, others deem it as a wrong call. However, amidst this uncertainty, if Roman Reigns won’t end up being The Rock’s next opponent, there still exists some formidable foes to give DJ stellar competition. The current WWE sensation CM Punk might knock on The Rock’s door next.

But since now the match has a fifty-fifty chance to headline the biggest wrestling event, WWE might play it a little differently by making Rhodes fight The Rock before dethroning another Samoan cousin, Roman Reigns, and finishing his story in the process.
