It’s interesting to note that he has pondered building a name for himself in the MMA scene by fighting inside the octagon. Speaking with the comedians Jim Norton and Matt Serra on the UFC unfiltered podcast in 2016, he disclosed his desire to enter the MMA scene.

Given The Rock’s unwavering passion and dedication to his work, it’s not impossible. And superstars like CM Punk and Brock Lesnar have already done that and made their presence felt in the arena. DJ once held the same opinion as well.
On the podcast, he stated, “There was a time there where I thought, man, I achieved everything I wanted to achieve in WWE, my movie career is floundering a little bit, what do I do? I was relatively still young, I think I was 34. I thought, oh well maybe UFC. Maybe I should do something like that. [H/T: MMA Fighting]“

The Hollywood megastar previously experienced a decline, just like everyone else in the world does, despite being the world’s top actor today. Notably, this led Johnson to consider shifting to the UFC extremely seriously.
How would The Rock have performed in the UFC?
The Rock has extensive pro wrestling experience and is descended from a wrestling family. This unquestionably gave him the benefit of being a great fighter. He was also very athletic and had amazing wrestling skills back when he was wrestling.
Taking everything into consideration, he would have been among the best fighters to ever enter the ring. Although MMA and professional wrestling are unquestionably two very different sports, given The Rock’s skill and love of MMA, he would have mastered and would have become a fantastic fighter.

Further, not only is he an avid sports fan, but he also holds UFC fighters in high respect, and athletes like Israel Adesanya have also acknowledged him as an inspiration.

Although he did not choose the MMA career he could have excelled in, Dwayne Johnson ended up being one of the most astonishing pro-wrestlers ever. In 2023, DJ is rumored to make a grand return to WWE as well.
