Ronda Rousey is one of the renowned names in combat sports today. She made a name for herself in the UFC, where she dominated her division for a long time. She became the first UFC Bantamweight Champion after she won her first fight in the promotion. During the time she was gaining immense popularity, she and her former boyfriend and the MMA fighter, Timothy DiGorrio, got into a scuffle. ‘The Rowdy One’ once revealed how she was involved in a physical altercation with DiGorrio. This happened after he threatened to leak photos of her online.
Rousey mentioned the incident in her autobiography, detailing the events of that night.
When Ronda Rousey confronted her ex-boyfriend
In her autobiography, ‘My Fight/Your Fight’ ‘Rowdy’ described how the situation escalated with her ex-boyfriend. In the book, Rousey referred to him as Snappers McCreepy.
Rousey wrote, “I waited for Snappers McCreepy to come home from work.[…] Forty-five minutes later, he walked in the door.[…] He asked what was wrong and when I didn’t say anything, he started to cry. I slapped him across the face so hard my hand hurt.”
She went on to mention that he tried to stop her from leaving the residence. She also added he also tried to grab the steering wheel of her vehicle as she was trying to leave.
Rousey added, that she pulled him by the neck and dragged him onto the sidewalk before driving off. The media houses picked up this news a year after her book was published.
They covered this issue before her big title defense in 2015 at UFC 193 against Holly Holm. They questioned if she was getting away with domestic violence due to sexist double standards.
She replied that she felt the need to do what she did since she was being stopped from leaving the place. According to the former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, she was trying to get away from being kidnapped.

As per the current WWE star, her actions were in self-defense. For her, it was a reaction to her former boyfriend trying to disrupt her life and image in front of the world. However, the incident didn’t sit well with many people.
Rousey’s next WWE title match
Recent reports suggested that WWE is planning to book Rousey as a ‘special attraction‘ character, much like Brock Lesnar.
Ronda Rousey is set to face WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan for the title at ‘Extreme Rules’ premium live event. ‘The Baddest Women on The Planet’ earned her shot after winning a Fatal-five-way match on SmackDown.
