Champions might be at the top of the roster, but that doesn’t mean they can always defend themselves under all circumstances. Hence, on the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown: May 7, 2021, Roman Reigns couldn’t protect himself from Cesaro.

At the end of the episode, ‘The Tribal Chief’ wanted to know if Jimmy Uso was truly on his side. He asked Jimmy Uso to acknowledge him, but he refused and left the ring.

Jey Uso followed Jimmy Uso to the ramp, and Roman Reigns was waiting to see what happened next. Cesaro took advantage of this moment and attacked Roman Reigns. The Universal Champion was taken by surprise and couldn’t defend himself against ‘The Swiss Cyborg’.

Jey Uso returned to help Reigns, but Cesaro proved too much for both of them combined. Jimmy Uso came back to help Jey Uso too, but Cesaro took down all three of them. The fans couldn’t stop their cheers after witnessing this dominating performance.

Roman Reigns will face Cesaro at WrestleMania Backlash 2021

The Swiss Cyborg had a match against Seth Rollins on the same episode. However, the match was interrupted by The Usos.

It so happened that Jey Uso eyed Cesaro when he came to the ringside, and Rollins promptly arrived to tell him to stay out of the fight, and he didn’t need help like Roman Reigns.

During the confrontation, Jimmy Uso super kicked Seth Rollins. Cesaro took advantage of the distraction and put Rollins back inside the ring and pinned him.

The fact that Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso cost him the match enraged Seth Rollins. He got into a heated backstage confrontation with Roman Reigns and announced that ‘The Tribal Chief’ is not on his own.

Now, it appears Jimmy Uso has returned and will feud with Roman Reigns. Whether WWE is trying to recreate a similar situation where Roman Reigns fights one of his cousins is not known.

Regardless, now that Cesaro won the match, he is going to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania Backlash 2021 and defend the Universal Championship belt. If Jimmy Uso sides with Cesaro, a huge family showdown is going to take place on SmackDown.
