It’s astounding to hear that Ted Turner, the billionaire, once considered buying WWE from his rival. In an interview, he stated, “They have never been able to create stars, but Ted buys things. He’s always been like that. By the way, he has tried to buy the WWF on many occasions.”
However, McMahon never allowed this to happen. Turner did, however, take some of the biggest superstars from him, which caused WWE to go through one of its darkest periods. 83 weeks in a row saw the company suffer defeat to WCW. But once more, McMahon used his ingenuity and the support of celebrities like Steve Austin and The Rock to advance his business.

Vince McMahon shocked the WCW fans when he made an appearance on the March 26, 2001, Nitro telecast. McMahon’s unexpected visit surprised every one because of his intense loathing of the corporation. Audience attention was sparked by the background, which said RAW is WAR rather than Nitro.
