Beyond being two of the most successful wrestlers, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Goldberg had a lot in common. Considering that they initially competed in different wrestling promotions, many viewers believed Goldberg was copying “The Texas Rattlesnake.” Goldberg was questioned about being labeled a copycat when speaking with Stone Cold at the Broken Skull session. He responded in a comedic manner, saying he wanted to kill Austin for this.

Goldberg on the podcast stated, “I wanted to kill you. Yeah, because you represented the enemy. That’s all. But I never could have made it where I was without you being Steve Austin and I was the copycat over at WCW.”

The two of them also had quite different physiques and wrestling styles, in Goldberg’s view. The Rattlesnake nodded and added that their methods of wrestling differed, and they didn’t have much in common outside the ring.
Has there ever been a bout between Goldberg and Stone Cold Steve Austin?
They had never engaged in a wrestling battle against one another, despite being two of the very best superstars of the era. When discussing this, Goldberg asserted that the WWE had missed out on a real golden opportunity as a result of Austin’s injured neck.

In a taped interview with Fanatics View, Goldberg was questioned about why his match with The Rattlesnake never happened. Replying to that, he stated, “Because he was hurt, his neck really screwed up. And they didn’t trust me—it was a huge opportunity that they never capitalized on for one reason.”

It’s safe to say that their fight would have been one of the most iconic contests if they had engaged in it. However, because of the time and the situation, they could never engage in a ring fight.
