The WWE Draft 2024 continued on WWE Monday Night RAW after starting on SmackDown. Celebrities and WWE legends announced the Draft in order to set up and deliver a blockbuster edition of Raw. Among them were NFL stars, Hall of Famers, and beloved icons from the company. However, when Alundra Blayze and Teddy Long came out in round four, a segment between her and CM Punk felt unscripted.

Punk returned to WWE on air tonight. While he was advertised for last week’s SmackDown, he only appeared after the show went off-air. That didn’t stop the former AEW star from making the headlines on Raw.

After coming out to cut a promo, CM Punk greeted Alundra Blayze and Teddy Long. As part of the WWE Draft announcement team, the two were out at the podium. However, while everything with Long went smoothly, Blayze was different. Initially, she refused to hug the Second City Saint before he went for a peck on her cheek. While the moment was adorable, it felt odd. It felt a bit awkward and seemed to have been unscripted. While there is no confirmation of what it meant or if it contributed to a greater purpose, it seems like the WWE Universe has something new to chat about regarding the Second City Saint.

Blayze is best known for her moment on the December 18, 1995, episode of WCW Nitro. After winning the WWE Women’s title, she showed up on the show and dumped it in the trash. The reason behind this was that WWE did not want to re-sign her. The day she invoked the action was the day after her WWE contract expired. What many fans felt odd was the fact that she was still the WWE Women’s Champion despite not being stripped of the belt, or losing it. Eric Bischoff called her to WCW the day her WWE contract expired.

Parallels can be drawn with Punk running away with the WWE World Heavyweight title. He won the title of John Cena at the Money In The Bank PLE in 2011. After winning it, he hopped the barricade and vanished from the WWE with the title. He returned to SummerSlam to challenge Cena, who won the title again. Punk still had the title, and the WWE was forced to crown a new champ with Cena. Just like Blayze, he never lost it. What did you think of the moment? Did you find it awkward? Tell us in the comments.
